How did I just type an update to my blog trying to cover the most important events in my life since my last update and forget to tell you about my DNS test??

Daddy surprised mommy end of last summer with a Wisdom Panel Professional Mixed-Breed Genetic Analysis of…..me! We went to the vet and they stuck a needle in my neck (didn’t hurt one bit) and took out some cool-aide. I ended up with this weird lump on my neck that turned black and blue (I have a mirror I can look in) for a day or so. Fortunately mommy didn’t notice because at this point she didn’t know about it. Odd thing though, we had to go back and do it all over again. Something about the cool-aide sample being “bad”. Same thing happend the second time. Big welt and discoloration, but mommy didn’t notice.

On to the results!! Well, daddy surprised mommy fir her birfday with the cool packet. She was very surprised. The packet tells us the breed detection, expected appearance and behavior and history of the detected breeds. They can trace pure bred DNS up to 3 generations back. Parents being “significant”, grandparents being “intermediate”, and great-grandparents as “minor”. They didn’t find any pure bred DNA in either parents or grandparents (way to lie doggie shelter!!). Mommy and daddy were hoping for Great Dane/Greyhound of course. There were two results in my great-grandparents. Staffordshire Bull Terrier (GRRRRRRRR) and…..English Cocker Spaniel??? The ECS explains my OCD when birds fly over in the back yard. The SBT probably has influenced my coat coloring.

At first daddy was disappointed with the results because they wanted me to be big, but I’m such a cool dog, that I don’t think they care. I give them my “face” look as mommy calls it and they forget all about it. :)

That’s all for now!
